What custom knowledge is for

Site crawl indexes public HTML from your assistant Site URL. Custom knowledge fills gaps: internal policies, SKU-specific FAQs, integration steps, or pricing nuances that are not on a single crawlable page.

Each note is plain text the model can cite when answering. Better notes mean fewer “I am not sure” replies and fewer hallucinations.

Review real visitor questions weekly and add or edit notes in Dashboard → Chat → your assistant → Custom knowledge.

What to add first

Top 10 visitor questions and short authoritative answers (shipping, returns, hours, service area).

Writing style that helps the model

Prefer facts over marketing fluff. Include dates or version notes when policies change.

Do not paste entire PDFs; summarize the visitor-facing rules in plain language.

After launch

Export or skim AI Chat → Leads and common chat questions. Turn patterns into new custom knowledge entries.

Re-run Crawl site when you publish major doc changes, then update notes for anything the crawl still misses.
